Am I bipolar?

There is no quick test you can take to diagnose bipolar disorder. Often medical professions misdiagnose the individual suffering from erratic moods, moods that come and go often, or moods that are manic and depressive at the same time. Even psychiatrists often fail to get it right the first time. It's even harder to get a correct diagnosis with children and adolescents. Often it is hard to distinquish from other mental illnesses, such as ADHD, schizophrenia, etc. Sometimes it takes people years to get a correct dianosis. It is believed that the transmitters of serotinin and norephrine are producing either too little causing depression or increasing the producion too quickly resulting in mania.

Depression, either bipolar or unipolar is the world's fourth leading cause in disability. In 12 years, it will become second.Even bipolar depression has subtle differences from unipolar depression. Patients seem even less hopeful, and in treatment, often bipolar and unipolar depressed respond differently.

Are Hemingway's characters bipolar?

Hemingway is an icon for the ages. He seemed to live a full life and was a hero to many. Unfortunately, his life, like his mom's ended in suicide.

The charcters in his novels also seem to lead a full life, often the men are matcho and the women are often what men refer to as bitches. Often the men are engage in some great outdoor adventure, such as killing abear, fighting a bull, or catching some monster of a fish. It seems that in order to affirm their own life, something must die. Some heroic action must take place, or if they don't, they fail as men. At night they get drunk and tell stories, often to mask their depression, which under any circumstances must not be addressed.

His women characters are usually weak or when tough, destoy men. They are never heroic or developed.

Who Else was or is Bipolar?

It seems at though everybody who was anybody. I've read that not only was Napoleon bipolar, but also Alexander the Great. How much bigger can you get than world conquereor.

Unless it's world thinkers? How about Socrates, Plato, and Aristotle? And this isn't the complete list. Every culture, every age, it seems the world was populated with bipolars, or at least among the people you read about. In Rome, the Vatican was made more magnificent by the works of the great Michelangelo. Of course there were more bipolar artists -among others are van Gogh, Turner, Jackson Pollack, and Rothko. Poets wrote about everyday things, but immortal words such as by the hand of Shelley, Lord Byron, and Keats. Great American Writers such as Edgar Allen Poe, Mark Twain, Ernest Hemingway, F. Scott Fitzgerald, and Tennesee Williams are rumored to be bipolar.

An if you are American as Apple pie, it really does seem like a bipolar world! Who is your favorite president? Chances are good that he may have been bipolar. Was it Abraham Lincoln or George Washington, the father of our country. For indeed their name appear on famous bipolars lists.

Why Couldn't I have been born Bipolar?

With all may heroes being claimed as bipolars. I downright jealous I'm not. I feel as though I am missing out on something. Though I have had bouts of depression, I have no idea of what it feels like to be in a hypomanic or manic mood. Unfortunately or fortunately - from whose perspective -even if there was a bipolar test, I'd fail.
